SAROY TRANSLATIONS

Why do we keep the Assyrian language alive?

This was the first video I ever made. It was my very own top 5 reasons to learn Assyrian-Aramaic. These are the points summarized:

Experience

2024: 1.000+ subscribers on YouTube and BMC

I have recently started an account on a platform called "Buy me a Coffee". Through the platform I offer teaching services to improve your fluency in Assyrian and share different resources. You can gain access by simply by clicking here. I'm also proud to announce that we have reached over the thousand subscribers on YouTube!

2020-2022: Fiverr, starting a local school and more

During this period I have gained most of my experience. I started out as a freelancer on Fiverr. I immediately received different orders for voice-overs, simple translations, book translations, proofreading but the greatest thing I experienced through Fiverr was meeting laoshu505000. His real name is Moses. Moses is a YouTuber who had over 1 million subscribers. While I was teaching him the Assyrian-Aramaic language (during week 8) he passed away. There are different videos of him and I speaking Assyrian and recording his progress. They can be found back by searching for "laoshu assyrian". These videos have more than 40.000 views.

During this period I started my own YouTube channel teaching and private tutoring different students. I have teached the language to 32 individuals during these years. My biggest achievement as a translator was translating a book named War & Order: The Legend of Hammurabi (Aramaic Edition). I have translated different things and I have been doing this for years. I'm the best seller with a five-star rating within this branch on Fiverr. You can always visit my Fiverr-page on: https://www.fiverr.com/stefansaroy

Besides these projects there is another very important project I participated in. A local Assyrian and I started an Assyrian school located in the North of Belgium specialized in the Assyrian language and culture. I am the language teacher of this school which has tens of students. The school is called Ninwita which means small Nineveh. Since Nineveh is the capital of Assyria and the school represents Assyria culturally.

2018-2020: Education

As a motivated student and someone who adored the Assyrian language I started to deepen my understanding of this language. I started reading books about the classical form of Assyrian-Aramaic, known as Classical Syriac. I have studied the different contributors of this language and read different ancient texts. The most important thing I did during this period was studying with the right people and knowledgeable teachers. Our local priest, my Assyrian language teacher Leo and many different people who motivated me and teached me the traditional ways of research within the Syriac world.

In the meantime I continued my formal studies as a law student, which I'm still specializing in.
